I was at the Hasso Plattner Institute, University of Potsdam. Where we attend to a one week High Performance Computing Event.

Very very cool Sessions and Speeches which covered things like Windows, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Hyper Visor, and a lot of other stuff such as Windows Kernel ...

We are currently a bit bussy in producing all the Channel8 stuff, so stay tuned for the Interviews.

Guys i really want to tell you more about seven and the things and rumours i heard about it. But due to the NDA, there is no chance to talk about it.

By the way, you can find a lot of Information and all the Sessions @ http://www.tele-task.de/

But lets talk a little bit more about the event and the things going on. Well first of all, i had a talk to Dave Propert which is the Godfather of Windows or say he is the Chief Kernel Architect. He's the guy. One sentence i can remember is: "The real cost of Memory is I/O". What does he mean by this. Well we have fast Processors and fast Memory but the Bus is a problem. So one of the challenges is to find a way how Software can improve the communication between the Memmory and Processors and get rid of the unnecessary communication!

Well, if u are interested in Windows Source Code and you're a student? Then have a closer look at the Windows Academic Program.

Visit Kai's Blog (german) to read more about the impressions he had.

Another very intersting thing is Hyper Visor. Well Hyper Visor originally get's it name from IBM when they had those big Mainframes and all the Supervisors! How is the thing managing the Supervisors, well sure the Hypervisor. Nowadays it is a small pice of software which is handling the communication between the Hardware and the Virtualisation Stack! In the virtualisation Stack u can host things like Windows, Linux, ... Want to know more about it?

So i have to leave the lab and before i loose my connection i just finish this post! cu
